Flu Shots Information 2014-15

From October 14, 2014, Flu shots will be available at Tokyo Medical & Surgical Clinic.

Please call reception (3436-3028) to arrange a time

Also please note that children aged under 4 years will need an appointment with one of our general practitioners for pre-immunization check.

Injection Hours

Weekdays: 9am－5pm

Saturdays: 9am－12pm

Vaccines

Influenza inactivated split injection aged from 6 months upwards

1 shot only required if over 65 years or aged 13 to 64 years and had influenza or the

vaccine last flu season

2^nd shot given after 2 to 4 weeks

Live influenza quadrivalent nasal vaccine if aged 2 to 49 years and not pregnant available from November

2 doses if aged 2 to 8 years and did not receive full influenza vaccination since 2010

1 dose if aged 9 to 49 years

Contraindications to the vaccines:

Severe allergy to eggs or other substances in the vaccine

Fever or feeling unwell

Guillan-Barre Syndrome (GBS) a severe paralyzing illness
