About Us
 
The Tokyo Medical and Surgical Clinic was established in 1951 in close cooperation with some embassies as a private general and surgical practice for the International Community in Tokyo.
The practice has been managed by several generations of foreign physicians and has always kept abreast with developments in the medical field.
All our Doctors and Staff speak English as well as some other languages.
Consultations are by appointment but emergencies without appointment will be seen. (see Emergencies)

Handling of Clinical Data
 
To maintain confidentiality the results of health checks, school physicals and other medical certificates are normally sent to the home address unless otherwise specifically requested.
Results of clinical tests are only given out by a physician.
Patient records are only retained for 5 years after the patient was last seen.
Patients may request copies of their files. Copies of adult's records are only given to that person unless prior permission has been obtained.
